SQ 861 - Hong Kong to Singapore

It would surprise everyone if I say this flight in 2012 was my very first flight on board the A380. It should have happened a year ago in 2011 on flight from Singapore to Tokyo but cancelled the trip due to the 311 Earthquake at Northeastern coast of Japan.


Due to late arrival of the aircraft, the flight was 40 minutes behind schedule, however I was aware of this early in the morning as I received a notification on my phone about this.


The flight was not heavily loaded, Economy Class on upper deck was about half full, and by counting the number of messy seat in Business Class, roughly estimated about 20% of loading, it seemed to me that Singapore Airlines were flying the seats around rather than passengers. 


Overhead storage above upper deck window seat for A380 was smaller than my expectation, so as the storage bin between the seat and window, probably because of the curvature of the fuselage.


The service on this flight was just satisfactory, a bare pass I would say, probably on the lower end of SQ's service. Lack of smile at the door during boarding, mediocre at best attitude, and a faulty handset with the inflight entertainment system had made this flight fell short of expectation.


Nothing much to complain about the meal, except the usual POP-PAN and crackers which I personally don't quite like. Baileys is always a plus, especially I don't recall it is being offered by any other airline I have flown with.
